Artist of the [insert appropriate term for time elapse since my last post]: Baby I’m Yours by Breakbot
I found this video on Vimeo some weeks ago…just got to listening to it once more. The video is awesome and the music is too.
Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours (feat. Irfane) – HD from Ed Banger Records on Vimeo.
Here are the lyrics:
i thought i had it all together
but i was led astray
the day you walked away
you were the clock
that was ticking in my heart
changed my state of mind
when love’s so hard to find
your feelings changed like the weather
went from clear to grey
on that cloudy day
how can i go on
with that bomb in the palm
love’s so hard to find
when someone’s on your mind
listen baby
your wish is my command
baby won’t you understand
that your wish is my command
what can i do to make my baby understand
something tells me that i’m dreaming
i can see us there
waving unaware
of problems that have a tendency to keep
keep the truth confined
far from our minds
you need someone you can believe in
this i do declare
trust me i’ll be there
the road that leads to heaven can be so steep
i will help you climb
change your state of mind
listen baby
your wish is my command
baby won’t you understand
that your wish is my command
what can i do to make my baby understand
your wish is my command
baby won’t you understand
that your wish is my command
(i can see us there
waving unaware
this i do declare
trust me i’ll be there) x 3
Unfortunately for you, I am still alive…recent dead hard drives, work, class, and some other stuff has kept me busy……will be back soon.
btw…that new iPhone……ZOMG!!
I am here at the park where I put all my thoughts to rest. Across the river lies the city. Some dense fog seems to be leaving the city. Prob kinda hard to see in this picture. One of the things that has just crossed my mind is how much mystery the river or any large body of water like the ocean has. I mean, do you really know what is going on in it? I’ve had many dreams where I am being chased by a tsunami yet somehow I and my little sister survive.
I started thinking what if all of the sudden something comes out and drags me into the river. By no means am I scared of the ocean, but I wonder what if. Have you ever stared at the ocean or river with no one else around? What controls those little waves. Can you really predict how big the next wave will be?
When I stare, to me, the ocean/river seems like a sleeping giant waiting for theright moment to strike.
Those of you wondering if I have ever been stranded in the ocean, well yes. The boat I was on ran out of gas. Stuck in the dense fog of the Peruvian coast. That is probably when I started to respect the ocean and other large bodies of water. If this entry doesn’t make any sense to you, it’s cause it literally is a brain fart. I miss the city. I have to make it tomorow.
PS I know I need to resize. This was posted from my iPhone
A
rtist of the Week is Back! At least for now. From the 2010 SXSW torrent file, available free, I found Austin Leonard’s Golden Opportunity. It is one of those feel good songs. It’s pretty chill.
Where to find him?
Austin Hartley-Leonard began as a solo singer/songwriter in Austin, TX. His first demo earned him an invitation to the SXSW Music Festival. Soon after, he started looking for other musicians to round out the band, and the group St. James Inc was born. The band went on to see success in the Austin music scene and was invited to perform at the Austin City Limits Festival..
After releasing the “8 Hours” EP in 2006, St. James Inc performed at the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago and then relocated to Los Angeles, where they continued to see great success. You can hear their tunes in the film “Moving McAllister” and the hit show “Men In Trees” on ABC.
After meeting producer Charles Newman (Magnetic Fields, Black Kids, AM) in Los Angeles, the two began work on Austin’s debut solo record “Franklin Ave” in December 2007. With Mother West labelmates The Bowmans adding a sprinkling of harmonies, Doug Pettibone (Lucinda Williams, Tift Merritt) on pedal steel and guitar, Carrie Rodriguez on fiddle, Matt Ramsey on guitar and vocals, and members of Brian Wright’s Waco Tragedies as the backing band. Recording was finished at Mother West NYC in March 2008. Austin played 5 shows at SXSW 2009 including a slot on The Hotel Cafe Showcase night.
Austin has recently written songs that have been used in a Troy Bilt lawnmower ad and an upcoming episode of The Ghost Whisperer, as well as the song “Heart Attack” from Franklin Ave being used in the new Steve Buscemi film Handsome Harry. He also has a song appearing on an upcoming episode of Chuck on NBC in late March.
He is currently in the studio working on a new disc to be released later this year. (From SXSW)
If I could be any movie character, it would be Carl from UP. Why? I guess I am just like him in some ways. I’m not going into details. I’m just posting just cause. My dog Bayley would be Dog from the movie. The fat kid from the movie would be my little sister. And the wife would be.. I don’t really know. There are a couple of people I can think of. That is about it. Now I will post some pictures from UP.
