Checking out a Video Players for wordpress

One of my favorite video sites to go to is Vimeo. Unlike YouTube, it is a niche site. Vimeo is the one place where amateur and professional filmmakers go to post their content, so what you find will be quality stuff not some random kid talking about how his day went. What I like most about the site is it’s video player. The controls disapper and the video is not in some ugly frame.

Here is an example of a Vimeo Video:

I’ll be gone from KORB on Vimeo.

This is a video on YouTube:

Which do you think is the best player? I personally like Vimeo’s player. It’s simple, borderless, beautiful and you barely know the controls are there.  With that said, I have been trying to find a way to embed YouTube videos with a different type of player, one that resembles Vimeo’s player.
Now, I am running Wordpress some I’m on the hunt for some plugins that embed YouTube videos so that they resemble a Vimeo player.

First up is the WordPress Video Player (comes with Wordpress)

I am probably doing something wrong, because evertime I want to post a video through the WordPress embedder, I get a link.

Like this one: Growing up in the streets: Cusco

After a little googling, I found the perfect one.  Flash Video Player Plugin It has several skins, and you can customize it if you want. Here is a example.

Get the Flash Player to see this content.

And Last but not least, this is the HTML5/FLASH Player hybrid. If you have the updated version of either Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, or Firefox, you should be able to see this in HTML5. Which means, you would have been able to see the video without installing Flash. Unfortunately, I am having trouble with HTML5. The plugin I installed isn’t working properly for some odd reason. For now Flash wins. If you want to try it out, the link for the HTML5/Flash Player is HERE.
